Lightning Lane at Disneyland: is it worth it, and what to book first

The three passes

• Multi Pass: reserve eligible rides one at a time, with one entry per ride per day. Includes PhotoPass downloads, subject to exclusions.
• Single Pass: a separate purchase for Rise of the Resistance or Radiator Springs Racers. Neither is included in Multi Pass.
• Premier Pass: one entry to each available Lightning Lane attraction without reserving return windows. Compare its price with what your group will actually use.

Is Multi Pass worth it?

It is easier to justify on a busy day, a one-day visit or when your group prefers a later start. An early start and eligible Single Rider queues may be enough on another day. A starting order, not a sellout prediction

• Disneyland: compare Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, Space Mountain and Indiana Jones Adventure when operating. Choose a must-do with a return window that fits your day.
• Then compare Matterhorn, Big Thunder Mountain and Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway. Do not assume Haunted Mansion—especially its holiday version—will remain available all afternoon.
• California Adventure: compare Guardians, Toy Story Midway Mania!, Incredicoaster, WEB SLINGERS and Soarin’. Book according to current availability and your route, not a rigid ranking.

Habits that help

• Make your first selection after entering. You can select again after redeeming it or after two hours, subject to availability; the app shows your next eligible time.
• Use short standby queues when practical, and keep bookings for times when they save more of your day.
• Multi Pass allows one Lightning Lane entry per participating ride per day. Rerides generally mean another available queue option.

Hotel stays and Single Pass

Eligible Disneyland Resort hotel guests receive one entry to an eligible Multi Pass attraction per registered guest, age 3+, per reservation during the stay. It excludes Single Pass rides. Buy a separate Single Pass only if that ride and the offered time are worth the price to your group; a shorter standby wait later is not guaranteed.
